Family and Friends will gather at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Parkside Chapel to celebrate and remember the life of Delbert D. Bainum, 97, a long-time resident of Hereford. The Reverend James Williams, pastor of North Side Baptist Church in Plainview, will officiate. Cremation Services are under the personal supervision of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. Bainum passed away, Saturday, November 3, 2018 in Amarillo.

Delbert Dale Bainum was born September 28, 1921 in Bellview, New Mexico to Charles S. and Mary McMordie Bainum. He had attended Hereford Schools. Delbert delivered freight for Tex Pac and Beaver Express for several years. He at one point operated a drive in restaurant here in Hereford. Delbert proudly served during World War II in the Merchant Marines.. He was a Baptist.

The legacy he leaves are one son, Craig Bainum of Hereford, one daughter Connie Blakes and husband Lonnie of Abernathy seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Geraldine Kendall Bainum and one daughter Gwen, and his second wife Verlea Nixon Bainum.

The family suggests memorials in Mr. Bainumís name be made to the American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell Avenue, Amarillo, Tx 79109.
