Nolberta "Betty" Arriazola
February 4, 1939 - October 2, 2019

Funeral Services for Nolberta "Betty" Arriazola, 80, of Dimmitt will be held 2.00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Iglesia en Victoria with Reverend Armando Pinales, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in West Park Cemetery under the professional supervision of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mrs. Arriazola passed away Wednesday in Dimmitt.

Nolberta Matta was born February 4, 1939 in Alpine, Texas to Jesus and Francisca (Valenzuela) Matta. She was a former Hereford resident, living here thirty one years before moving to Dimmitt. She was an employee of Walcot School District for thirty years as a bus driver and cook. She was an excellent baker and cook. She was well known for her tortillas and she took that recipe with her, no one can duplicate them. Betty was an active member of Iglesia en Victoria, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was her life. There was never a doubt about where you stood with her, and her love was unconditional.

The legacy she leaves are two sons, Nick Fuentes of Sterling, Texas, Pablo Arriazola and wife Carolyn of Dimmitt, one daughter Janie Martinez and husband Benito of Odessa, three brothers, Willie Matta, Jesse Matta, Jr, and Mike Matta and five sisters, Angelica, Nancy Ponce, Rosa Matta, Adelida and Leandra Martinez, 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pablo Arriazola Sr.,one daughter Joanna Lopez, two brothers Larry Matta and Albino Matta and two sisters, Rosita Matta and Maria Martinez.
