Dotty May Carr
July 20, 1941 - June 7, 2019

Funeral Arrangements for Dotty Carr, 77, a long-time Hereford resident will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Parkside Chapel with the Reverend Al Sanders, pastor of Sonrise Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in West Park Cemetery under the direct supervision of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mrs. Carr passed away Friday, June 07, 2019, in Amarillo.

Dotty May Dalton was born July 20, 1941 in Watkins, Colorado, to Clarence and Juanita Wasson Dalton. She attended and graduated from Bennett High School in Bennett, Colorado, in 1960, out of a class of thirteen graduates. She met and fell in love with Jerry Carr. They were married July 8, 1960 in Clovis, New Mexico. Mrs. Carr had worked as a secretary for Farm Bureau Insurance Company, for fifteen years, and Benny Womble Oil Company. Dotty was well known for baking wedding cakes for the public for several years, and was a checker at Taylor and Sons Grocery Store, plus she also worked for Cal Garrett Cleaners. She was a leader and very active in 4-H. She took girls to State Sewing contests. She and a circle of friends would gather together to sew Barbie Doll clothes. She was an excellent seamstress, she enjoyed sewing clothes for her family.

The legacy she leaves behind, are her husband of 58 years, Jerry Carr of Hereford, one daughter, Donna Burns of Hereford, one son James Carr and wife Amanda of Brady, Texas, three sisters, Mary White of Denver, Colorado, Carol Whittle of Jefferson City, Missouri, Gracie Manning of Hereford, and one brother, Gary Dalton of Strasburg, Colorado, two grandchildren Terri and Kevin and three great-grandchildren, Samantha, Lani and Matthew.

Dotty was preceded in death by her Parents and one Son Barry Carr.
