Funeral Services for Leroy Bodkin, 87, a former Hereford resident will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Don McDonald, pastor, officiating. Services are under the personal supervision of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. Bodkin passed away Wednesday, September 05, 2018 in Amarillo. Family will be receiving friends, September 6, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 at Parkside Chapel.

Thomas Leroy Bodkin was born October 2, 1930 to George Albert and Pearl (Henson) Bodkin in Olton, Texas.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1952 until 1955. In 1960 he moved from Olton, Texas to Hereford and farmed. Mr. Bodkin was active in his Church, he was an Elder and served The Session. He loved to fish, go camping, and water skiing. He loved his grandchildren greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with them. Leroy enjoyed playing Bridge and Dominos.

Those left to cherish his memories are two daughters, Jackie Monk and husband John of Guymond, Oklahoma, and Judy Welch and Paul Konrath of Kittredge, Colorado; one son, Jim Bodkin of Canyon, Texas; one daughter in law, Lucy Bodkin of Canyon; a life-long friend, C.W. Leathers of Olton, TX; ten grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Evelyn Bodkin; one brother, Wilton Bodkin; and one sister, Elsie Petty.
