Duane James Albracht

Memorial Mass for Duane Albracht, 83, a Hereford resident will be celebrated Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Reverend Anthony Neusch, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. Albracht passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 in Hereford.

Duane James Albracht was born January 12, 1935 Hereford, Texas to Cyril and Mary Schaefer Albracht. He attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School as a child and graduated from Hereford High School. Duane married Therese Jesko, the love of his life, on October 31, 1959 in Hereford. Mr. Albracht began his 43 year career with the Hereford Post Office in May 1961, after retiring he worked for Carl McCaslin Lumber & Tony Huckert Lumber Co. He liked to keep himself busy by mowing yards, which he did for many years. Duane was the best father, grandfather, great grandfather, and roll model, ever. He was genuinely a good guy that cared for everyone. He also was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Mourning his passing are three sons, Greg Albracht and wife Tammy of LeClaire, IA, Matt Albracht and wife Kim of New Braunfels, TX and Michael Albracht of Hereford; two daughters, Christi White and Lori Page and husband Mike Page both of Hereford; two grandchildren who they adopted and raised, Nichole Albracht and Ericha "Speedy" Albracht both of Amarillo; two brothers, Thomas Albracht and wife Annette and Roger Albracht and wife Donna both of Hereford; two sisters, Jeanne Kreigshauser of Clovis, NM and Juanita Albracht of San Antonio; 13 grandchildren, Joshua, Natasha, Kyle, Brian, Nicholas, John, Lauren, Brooke and Spencer Albracht, Cassie Baron, Casey and Jaclynn Page and Tyson Ramirez; and 5 great-grandchildren, Isaac and Isabella Romero, Jack Christian, Ethan Guerrero, and Cayden and Keaton Page; and many cousins from families, Schaefer’s, Albracht’s, Jesko’s, and Rippe’s.

Preceding in death are Duane’s parents, Cyril and Mary Albracht; wife Therese Albracht; one brother, Robert Earl Albracht; and one brother-in-law, Dean Kreigshauser.
